History

The Schneidinger Group was established in the 1920s when two brothers, Willy and Dagobert Schneidinger, created Brothers Schneidinger Co. The Group originally began by producing silk fabrics in their weaving factory. After World War II the brothers expanded their business scope into the production of viscose, acetate and nylon fabrics. By the 1950s and 1960s the Schneidinger Group was supplying the Swiss and European garment industry and leading department stores with fashionable fabrics.

In 1979, the second generation of the Schneidinger Group entered the company and in 1981 Schneidinger Holding was established. Soon after, the family decided to shift focus slightly from primarily fabrics manufacturing into the field of home textiles and home furnishing. The Group started to produce and distribute finished, ready-made products for the home. Over the next several decades the company grew into one of the leading home textile and home furnishing companies in Switzerland.

2011 marked the entry of the third generation into the family business, coinciding with the Group’s entry into the Chinese market. The Group created a retail business in the home furnishing industry in China and is in the process of opening their direct points of sales there.
